From maintenance: remember filters are just as important for heat as they are with cooling. Don’t want anyone to do without because of a clogged up filter. Low 20’s next week make sure your hoses are unhooked.

Let’s Talk Solar!!!! Why more people are not interested in this is so far beyond me.

Let me start with the words i was given the day the solar project was handed over to me “ John we don’t care if we make a dollar or lose $5000 just make it make sense for everyone.”

I took those words to heart and it reminds me why i love working for this company. The solar project was being done out of passion and belief, not the money hungry cash grab I’ve dealt with at other companies or what we all deal with from our grid provider. You all know!

Okay let’s get into it there are two different setups here and i want to do the easy one first.

1) Enclave residents have no power bill! Period. These homes are still connected to the grid we still receive a bill from the provider so some exclusionary situations could happen but as of yet not happened. You pay your rent you have power how simple is that.

2) Flat rate electric. This covers the other 30+ home with solar and potentially any future projects. This is where my work was and is, I am going to simplify this as much as possible. We are still hooked to the grid and still receive a bill from the provider. For our residents we act as your energy company for these homes. Basing your bill on projected use due to sqft, occupancy, and other usage factors (i.e. age of building or heating equipment). I also try to balance out to ensure a growing discount compared to the grid provider (you know). As this is a little more sensitive there has been times we have had to adjust these amounts but rare and easily explained before hand. While still separate this is great for budgeting and still saving a few dollars. I believe my latest calculations were roughly between 8 to 10 percent.
